What is a car chassis and which points should be more robust?

all the main car systems are mounted on the chassis; therefore, the chassis strength of the car equals the integrity of all parts of its systems.

If we look at the car in simplest form, we can divide it into three parts: the body, the engine, and the chassis. A vehicle frame, also known as its chassis, is the main supporting structure of a motor vehicle, to which all other components are attached, comparable to the skeleton of an organism. The chassis of cars is actually a frame of the car so parts is placed on it. In fact, we can examine the basis of a car based on its chassis; hence the car chassis are always an integral part of their platform. Almost all of the essential car systems are mounted on the frame of the chassis, systems such as steering system, power transmission, or braking and steering system are all connected through the car chassis. Vehicle frame have been around since the beginning of the automotive industry and have been developed by large automakers such as DS company in the years to come.

What is the role of the chassis in the strength and integrity of the car?

As we said, all the main car systems are mounted on the chassis; therefore, the chassis strength of the car equals the integrity of all parts of its systems. During the history of the automotive industry, one of the major concerns of large automakers has been to increase the strength of the car’s chassis; hence, in the last two decades, many large manufacturers in the industry have been looking for the development of their product frame. The chassis of the cars at the beginning of the industry was made of wood, but as you know, wood does not have a good strength in coping with the volume of impact and the pressures due to road roughness, so soon it took steel.

Today, in most urban automobiles, steel is used in their chassis structure, but as you know, steel is a lot of heavy weight materials, so since the early 20th century, automakers used other materials for their high-speed cars. This has led many automakers seeking to make a difference in the structure of their cars, changing the design principles of the vehicle frame. The French company DS is one of those manufacturers who, by examining the important parts of the car chassis that should have a higher strength, has made it possible to produce lighter-weight car chassis frames. In fact, if we want to analyze the car’s frame in general, we can divide them into three parts: front, center, and end. As you might have guessed before, the front of the car chassis is the most important part that industrial designers and engineers attach to particular emphasis on strength. The front part of the chassis forms the main part of the front of the car; the front is actually a region of the car, which is responsible for repelling blows from the roughness of the road. Hence, large automakers such as the DS compony always make the front of the car chassis more durable and heavier than other materials in order to be able to withstand a sufficient resistance to blows. This form of design allows the automakers to produce lighter and more dynamic vehicle chassis and use lighter materials in the middle and rear (back) frame. Consider the chassis strength in the integrity and stability of the car; therefore, all chassis frame connections are firmly supported by the hardest steel.
